BWA Workshop Series

As a stakeholder in the Indian Telecom Industry, you must be seeing the technology momentum picking up across the industry from operators to product vendors. The country is embracing 3.5G and 4G technologies almost at the same time. India will be one of the first countries to extensively use LTE technology, especially TD-LTE, for providing large-scale Broadband Wireless access. From an industry which could earlier bank on the learning's from elsewhere in the world, Indian telecom is catapulted to a position where it has to take the lead in technology adoption and evolution towards maturity. There will be host of issues where we have to find solutions and alternatives ourselves in collaboration with the international community. This needs sustained interactions from all the stakeholders. The series of BWA workshops planned over the next one year intends to cover several of these topics thus helping Indian industry gear up towards the exciting times ahead.

How are these workshops different?

Nowadays there is a workshop every two months on LTE in one city or other in India. Yet there are few which dwell upon the key technical challenges and issues which will be on top of the minds of the Engineering teams when BWA starts rolling out in the next few quarters. These workshops will focus on the technology aspects of Broadband Wireless market like deployment challenges, coverage and capacity requirements, co-existence with existing networks, backhaul solutions, rendering legacy services like voice and SMS etc. National and international experts from standardization forums, R&D centers and technology teams of Operators will be participating and speaking at these workshops
